This week marks the end of the road for many of our runners this year. Each season, regionals exists as the culmination of many miles of summer conditioning, fall reps, and grueling races. Then, a select few run for another week and a half to test themselves against the best in all of 7A on the State Course at Carrollton for the State Championship. This week, we also celebrate our seniors. Runners who lead us, whether they realize or not, out of our fears and weaknesses and into a chance at forever. Thank you to all our runners, but especially thank you to our seniors.
This year, regionals takes place at a familiar course for many of our runners – Chattahoochee Hills. Home of the Asics course, Chattahoochee Hills has been both a harrowing, hilly race and dizzying PR-inducing speedway, depending on the setup. Many of our team PRs have taken place on this course, and many are anxious to lace up their spikes again for a shot at this lovely event space. For Regionals, the top 6 individual runners are automatic qualifiers for state, regardless of team finish, while the top 4 teams earn the chance to compete at state.
Region 2 7A includes the following teams (listed alphabetically): Campbell High School, Carrollton High School, East Coweta High School, Pebblebrook High School, and Westlake High School.
